Introduction
Nepal has a remarkable impact on eye health services in South Asia. Annually thousands of patients come from India, Bangladesh and other countries for the treatment. Numbers of hospitals are promoting clinical and academic activities.
M.E.R.O. Eye Foundation is a registered organization in Nepal. We are promoting education for Eye health professionals. We are promoting eye health education to increase the human resources to prevent blindness, ocular diseases in Nepal.

Internship
As an optometry intern, you can participate in a training or research program as a student. In this role, you may shadow an optometrist to learn more about their everyday skill sets, as well as expose yourself to a diverse spectrum of patients and improve your clinical practice.
Who can apply?
Students who have completed three-year optometry academic courses from recognized optometry institutions are eligible to apply.
What do we cover for Internship preparation?
The following topics would be covered in training during the internship:
- Refraction
- Contact lenses
- Low Vision Aids
- Posterior Segment Investigations
- Anterior Segment Investigations
- Cataract Investigations
- Outreach Program
- Soft Skills & Patients Counselling
Note:
**Please mail us for other sub-specialities
For application:
- The candidate should have to choose an internship hospital themselves
- They should apply with an optometry school letter for the internship
- Required to submit the No objection Letter either from Nepal Health Ministry or NMEC.
